ABOUT JOSH

Creative Director for 2024 DNC Convention, former DNC Vice Chair candidate, and Obama White House digital strategist.

Josh is an Emmy-winning video journalist, digital strategist, climate activist, and comedian-ist. In early 2025, Josh ran for DNC Vice Chair to press the urgency for Democrats to modernize communications or die (they chose death). He was formerly Senior Creative Advisor for The Democrats and served in the Obama White House as Director of Digital Strategy for the U.S. Department of Labor. Josh was Creative Director for the 2024 Democratic National Convention, producing the first Creator cohort of top influencers, credentialed like press, netting an estimated $800M in earned media.

In 2018, Josh started [GOOD POLITICAL] to work with friends on things that matter, producing nearly 100 digital ads for the Biden Harris campaign, helping the Parkland students with digital communications for March For Our Lives, leading the creative launch of Michelle Obama’s initiative, When We All Vote, and as Senior Creative Advisor to Governor Tony Evers defeat of Scott Walker in Wisconsin.

As an Activist/Comedian, Josh spends his time exploring positive, approachable ways to message on important issues, creating Impact Entertainment™️ over pure documentaries. After a pitch to Last Week Tonight garnered attention of senior staff, and going seven grueling interview rounds of consideration for an Executive Producer role on The Late Show, Josh committed fully to honing his craft in political satire. Entrepreneurially, this culminates in the digitally native late night series "TMRW.today" – after a successful SPV raise on Angellist by The Green Screen Fund.

Josh hosts several web series, including the TRIVIAL podcast (top 30% on Spotify) and “U Need To Know This!” with Mashable. He’s performed sketches for Comedy Central, stand up in packed arenas across the country (mostly Wisconsin), and sold out shows everywhere from SF to London (usually where there’s a Packers game). He’s emcees the Summit Series conference and was comedian-in-residence for NeueHouse, hosting a monthly show with diverse, rising stars in the comedy scene.

Josh is showrunner and host of SPACEDROP (now on Amazon Prime) a weekly web series about how the average person could endure life in the extreme isolation of space. Josh was an analog astronaut on the crew of the first Moonbase simulation at the HI-SEAS habitat in Hawaii.

Josh is showrunner and host of LAST GLIMPSE on Amazon Prime, a travel series celebrating at-risk cultures in a positive, empowering light. The pilot episode takes on rising sea levels in "modern Atlantis" – the picturesque paradise of The Maldives.

In the era before Snapchat, Josh worked for President Obama’s reelection campaign, the Government of Israel, and Charlie Sheen. It is likely the only thing all three have in common. His work shared by National GeographicThe New York Times, MSNBC, CNN, Comedy Central, NowThis, Mic, TIME, Rolling Stone, Variety, The Washington Post, @BarackObama, @HillaryClinton – and a lot of other people that tweet better than the sitting President.

Josh is a Webbys Executive Judge, Truman National Security Fellow, Ordained Minister, Dumpling Influencer, and stand-up comedian who enjoys writing and telling stories, usually not in the third person. To pay for moving costs, Josh naturally went on Wheel of Fortune, and won. He’s the most memorable “Foreground Performer” on the final season of Succession. Josh is an initial member of the “Climate Comedy Cohort” and an advisory board member for the climate change organization, Dayenu, and also likes advocating for unusual constituencies, Oxford commas, taking advantage of New York jazz and Left Coast weather.
